Doing a lot more recording recently, here's a little clip from a warm up to recording that I did of 'I am easily assimilated', one of my go-to performance and audition pieces - Enjoy! Full version on my YouTube channel under 'Contralto Jukebox'.

Please don't leave, friends! It's slow and difficult starting afresh, people are scattering across different platforms, and none of those yet function as well. There's still lots of good stuff here. Here's an idea: why not try to find five new, interesting people to follow today?

#8: Die Walküre from Regents Opera at York Hall. Any opera singer who wants a masterclass in acting should get to Bethnal Green and see this. It’s a small venue and done in the round, so you get to see all the detail. And what detail. Singing pretty amazing, too.

All's not well in the House of Wotan. Regents Opera London do the trouble and strife remarkably well in the second instalment of their Ring cycle. See my review for OPERA TODAY: operatoday.com/2025/02/a-dome…

Bravo Regents Opera for the epic Ring cycle 👏. Not a weak link in the cast and a unique opportunity to be really close to the action. If you can make cycle 2 starting next Sunday, go!

A simply magnificent Die Walküre from Regents Opera at York Hall last night. Incredible, nuanced performances from the singers, committed playing from an orchestra that you quickly forgot was in miniature & a production that in its simplicity was absolutely compelling. Bravo.

#15: the man sitting next to me announced (to no one in particular) that we ‘had just experienced Wagner taken to a new level”. He was talking about the Regents Opera Walküre. I don’t think anyone in the audience would have disagreed.
