The city and city staff spend a lot of time keeping it in good order for public use from trails to open park areas. The Greenway is not a private use area, nor an extension of your backyard. City Ordinance 14-0402 lays out the rules of this area. #GFPD

We are now taking applications for Police Officer. Whether you are starting out or looking to transfer to a different department, we have a spot for you. We give our officers a lot of training, seek officer input on needs of the department, and have great community support.

This “new laws” post is on HB 1160. This law bans the use of cell phones by students in elementary, middle, and high schools across the state. Please check with your local school district on how they will implement this. This is a longer bill to read that won’t fit into this post

We are starting a series of Coffee with A Cop over the next couple months. We want to hear from you! Join us from 9-10 AM on Thursdays this month. We spread them around to make it easier for people to join. If you can’t make it this month, we are continuing them until December.

A rough lowball guess for the average time spent by our officers is around 2 hours investigating an accident. This would be 2,772 hours spent on just crashes by one officer. Add in the cost of a new officer making around $32.69 an hour and you get a cost of $90,616.68. #GFPD
