Who said you can't have the best of both worlds? Using genetics farmers can reduce GHG emissions per kg of lamb produced and increase farm profitability. #winwin @GrassToGas agriland.ie/farming-news/h… #agriland

A recently published study carried out by @edeloconner15 in the TeagascSheep team and funded by @GrassToGas and GreenBreed confirms an optimal time of 50 min to measure gaseous emissions of sheep in portable accumulation chambers. dx.doi.org/10.1093/jas/sk… Sheep Ireland 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

These ewes’ emissions are also measured in Portable Accumulation Chambers at TeagascSheep for comparison with SF6. Individual daily pasture intake is estimated using the n-alkane technique. GreenBreed & @GrassToGas. Sheep Ireland 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This month edeloconnor15 & Eoin Dunne from TeagascSheep are using SF6 tracer techniques, funded by GreenBreed & @GrasstoGas. SF6 allows for continuous measurement of methane emissions from individual sheep grazing at pasture. Sheep Ireland 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The TeagascSheep team’s Portable Accumulation Chambers have made their debut this week on Irish commercial farms, measuring the methane output of 300 ewes on a Sheep Ireland 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Central Progeny Test farm for @GrassToGas

We look forward to welcoming you to this year's Sheep Breeders Round Table starting next Friday with National Sheep Association. With a theme of 'British sheep genetics delivering for the nation’ we have a fantastic line up of speakers. See you there 👍 Find out more bit.ly/3SM96iw 🐑
