๐ New article: "Beyond Domain Dependency in Security Requirements Identification" by @francasillo, Vincenzo Deufemia, Carmine Gravino ๐ Get your copy at doi.org/10.1016/j.infsโฆ #requirements #security #nlp #naturallanguageprocessing #machinelearning #ml

Francesco Casillo Carmine Gravino ๐ Context: Early identification of security requirements is crucial in software development, facilitating the integration of essential security measures into IT networks and reducing time and costs throughout the software life cycle.

Francesco Casillo Carmine Gravino ๐ค Motivation: This paper addresses the limitations of existing methods that, leveraging NLP and ML techniques for detecting security requirements, face challenges in adapting across domains and rely on domain-specific data.

Francesco Casillo Carmine Gravino ๐ก Findings: The findings reveal that ensemble and grid search methods prove effective in domain-specific and domain-independent experiments, respectively. However, custom BERT models showcase domain independence and adaptability.
