I’ve been writing ghazals lately. Here’s one recently published in Great Lakes Review, with thanks to the editors. 💜

Mr. Tony squeezed Nick’s shoulders until the jackhammer stopped. “There’s a man in a suit looking for you. You got five minutes, kid.” From Baby Can't Fly By Luke Beling #Fiction with #GreatLakesReview greatlakesreview.org/baby-cant-fly/

It's here! Friends, I'd be so grateful if you read this 2,000-word story at a pub I greatly admire, Great Lakes Review. You can't tell by the title, but it's the story of a saint. See if you can identify him. greatlakesreview.org/asshole-of-the…

Charlie Kondek Great Lakes Review This is great. You captured so many of the little details that were a part of baseball in my youth. The love of the game. The feeling you got on the field. The camaraderie (or lack of it) with teammates. And Seb….the kind of kid we all admired. So very well-done!

Coach Cletian had some strange ideas about baseball. One of them was the Asshole of the Game. From Asshole of the Game By Charlie Kondek #Fiction with #GreatLakesReview greatlakesreview.org/asshole-of-the…

I love baseball, but played only sandlot-style as a kid, so had no chance to make the HOF. This lovely story by All-Star Michiganian Charlie Kondek is a tale of lessons gone wrong.

Charlie Kondek Great Lakes Review I don’t know much about baseball but I know a thing or two about writing and this is GREAT. The theme, the language, the manipulation of time in a way only prose is capable of. One of your best so far, which is really saying something
