On this Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. #MemorialDay #NY05

As co-chair of the JFK Redevelopment Council, I actively fought for JFK Airport to award over $2.3 billion in contracts to MWBEs, the largest in New York history. I remain committed to creating and expanding real wealth-building opportunities for Southeast Queens. #NY05

As we close out AAPI Month, I celebrate the strength and contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. I’m proud to stand in solidarity and grateful to be recognized as a Diversity Champion by the Asian American Judges Association of New York. #NY05

#ThrowbackThursday with my friends, the late Congressman Charles Rangel and the late Mayor Dinkins. I am honored to have served alongside Congressman Rangel in the CBC and to have lived under Mayor Dinkins' leadership. Grateful for their friendship and miss them both dearly.

Queens knows what real leadership looks like. Appreciate Jessica Ramos for rising above politics to support Andrew Cuomo. It’s about results, not rhetoric — and Queens knows the difference. Let’s get it done.

Today I’m wearing orange for Gun Violence Awareness Month to honor lives lost and keep fighting to end gun violence. From partnering with prevention groups in Queens to backing legislation in Congress, I am working so fewer families in #NY05 lose loved ones.

Trump accepts a $400M jet from Qatar while Queens families struggle under his tariffs. Small businesses pay more to import, yet he profits off the same trade he claims to oppose. Now Hegseth wants the jet deal details classified. Why hide it?

Trump wants to be a king. There’s no place for that in America. While he throws himself a $45M military parade, working families face layoffs and rising prices. This is why we protest. This is why we fight. So speak out. Protest peacefully. Get involved. That’s how we win.

And the grift continues. If Trump’s $45 million birthday party that hardly anyone showed up to wasn’t enough, he is now releasing a cellphone?! This is insane. nytimes.com/2025/06/16/us/…

Today we honor Juneteenth, when the last enslaved people celebrated their freedom. As always, freedom for some is not enough. We must continue the fight for freedom and justice for all. #Juneteenth

Had a great Juneteenth weekend at Roy Wilkins Park with @juneteenthinqueens, seeing friends old and new. It was right on theme: Black Family Reunion.

Not sure what MAGA version of the Constitution Trump’s reading, but only Congress has the power to declare war. By statute, the president must notify Congress within 48 hours of military action. The War Powers Resolution exists for a reason.

While MAGA tried (and failed) to get a backroom deal overnight, Republican “moderates” folded like lawn chairs. No wins for their districts—just brutal cuts. Now NYC hospitals and food assistance are all on the line. Leader Jeffries and House Democrats are fighting to stop it.

The final vote could come this afternoon. My question is - why would NY Republicans like Rep. Lawler & Rep. Malliotakis vote to support this bill? It guts healthcare, slashes food assistance, and threatens NY hospitals. Their constituents, and all New Yorkers, deserve better.
