The following is in response to the incredible analysis from FT today on CEO stock options: 1/3 Stock options are essentially 'debt' loaded on to the company.This is just another case of companies taking on debt now to juice returns now, and pass the problem on to the next CEO

2/3 We mere mortal shareholders should be up in arms over these options that water-down the value of a share year on year. The argument that CEOs will have greater care since they are 'invested' is nonsense.

3/3 Unless they buy these shares with their own cash, stock awards are just an excuse for them to find any way to hit a number above exercise price. Unfortunately not enough is being said or done even now about this unsustainable 'status quo'.
