The Cutoff Ridge Fire is burning in the Guadalupe Mountains Wilderness on the western escarpment of the park. The fire is approx 250 acres, posing no threat to life or property at this time. The fire was discovered yesterday and is being monitored by ground crews and air support.

Wednesday, December 6th, the Pine Springs Visitor Center will have no water or operational bathrooms from 8 am-12 pm. The bathrooms located at the Pine Springs Trailhead will be operational.

Emergency Water Conservation Measures are currently in place for the Pine Springs area. Bathrooms are located at the Pine Springs VC, Pine Springs Campground Tent Loop, & Frijole Ranch. Water bottle fill stations are located at the Pine Springs VC & Pine Springs Trailhead.
Join Volunteer Jonathan Saturday, May 11th for a guided bird hike in McKittrick Canyon. Meet at the McKittrick VC at 9am (Mountain Time) and plan on a bird-filled 2-3 hour hike.
As we finish celebrating Public Service Recognition Week, Guadalupe Mountains NP would like to thank all involved on April 27th who assisted an injured hiker: park volunteers and partner agencies including Carlsbad Caverns NP SAR, Dell Valley EMS, & Eddy County Fire & Rescue.
Work on replacing the well starts the week of May 19th. The Pine Springs Trailhead and RV Loop will be closed to all traffic staring the evening of May 18th. An alternate route to the trailhead starts at the Visitor Center Lot. All trails will be open.
Today, Sunday, May 19th, the Pine Springs Trailhead & RV Loop will be closed for Well Repair work. ALL trails are open & an alternate route to the Guadalupe Peak, Devils Hall, El Capitan, & Tejas Trails start from the Pine Springs Visitor Center, adding a total of 1.4 miles.

Fantastic news! And just in time for the unofficial start of summer! The well pump replacement project at Pine Springs has been completed and we are once again able to produce water. All water restrictions, temporary closures, and trail re-routes are lifted at this time.
