On 12 June 1944, under heavy fire from Japanese troops, the wounded Ganju Lama crawled forward and destroyed two tanks with a PIAT launcher. He engaged the Japanese troops with grenades, killing and wounding both tank crews. For these actions, he was awarded the #VictoriaCross.

🎖️ #Gurkha #VictoriaCross – Agansing Rai. In June 1944 , his company was ordered to retake two positions from the Japanese in Burma. Agansing Rai led three charges through the hail of enemy fire, taking each position and killing ten enemy soldiers in the process.
