Minister Andrew Gwynne MP’s oral statement confirming the national cancer plan will be published in the 2nd part of the year following the publication of the 10 Year Health Plan Good news for all us who spoke with #OneCancerVoice calling for the plan and thank you govt for listening

This #WorldCancerDay, we welcome the Andrew Gwynne MP announcement in parliament that there will be a consultation for the government’s upcoming cancer plan. We're pleased to see his recognition of brain tumours in particular being an area where more must be done to improve outcomes.

As Andrew Gwynne MP announces call for evidence for National Cancer Plan Brain Tumour Research stands ready to make a submission. Could we be " pushing on an open door?" Are the Government ready to " do things differently"? braintumourresearch.org/blogs/latest-n….

We're delighted to see Andrew Gwynne MP committing to a focus on Less Survivable Cancers Taskforce cancers in the upcoming #CancerStrategy today. Thank you so much to Katrina Murray MP for sharing your experience of losing your father & grandfather & calling for more action on these devastating cancers 💜

Great to hear my friend Andrew Gwynne MP announce this Government's ground-breaking National Cancer Plan. The plan will see waiting times reduced, access to earlier treatments, and investment in a world-leading trial to transform breast cancer care using AI. #WorldCancerDay

It was great to be in the chamber today to hear about the launch of the National Cancer Plan Consultation from Andrew Gwynne MP. Of course, I had to mention the work of The Brain Tumour Charity, Brain Tumour Research & Pancreatic Cancer UK... and my daughter! 😀

Great to be at Local Government Association (LGA) #SmithSqDebate – hearing from an expert panel incl Sir Michael Marmot & Andrew Gwynne MP. 📣 Their report highlights the innovative and collaborative work of councils and their partners, who are turning Marmot principles into real action. ⬇️ brnw.ch/21wQufX

This is why Andrew Gwynne MP has been leading on the Tobacco and Vapes Bill. Addiction isn’t freedom and children should not be gaining access to nicotine based products.

We’re serious about public health. Prevention is better than cure. Today Andrew Gwynne MP and I are announcing public health grant allocations to invest in the health of the nation. Alongside Angela Rayner, we’re backing local councils to make a real difference to local communities.

This is significant. 👏 5.4% or £200m is the biggest real-terms increase to the Public Health Grant for years and follows nearly a decade of reduced spending – years when inflation was (well) above the BoE target. Thank you Wes Streeting & Andrew Gwynne MP.
