1-in-1000 year floods are usually confined to a small area, maybe the size of a city. The size of the 1-500 & 1-1000+ year flood (recurrence interval) is colassal with #Helene #HeleneFlooding . I can say with great certainty that I have never seen a scope like this in the US!
