Irish drop G1 at Constantine in crazy 18-17 loss. Had some pitchers gut it out for the team and nearly came back, scoring 11 runs in the final 3 inn. Offense was led by Noah Emmer, who had a big day going 4-5 and driving in 6 with HR and a double. Irish lead G2 6-1 after 1.5 inn.

HCP Baseball will honor 2021 State Champs and current Hope Baseball teammates Brenden Collins and Nick Verduzco on Saturday May 17 following our 10 am SAC crossover game at Hackett. Both were 3-time All State players and each hit over .500 their final year with 50+ RBI.

Irish drop makeup contest at Parchment 5-4 and win makeup game vs. Constantine 8-2 behind a gem by Kyler Higgins (7IP, 3H, 1ER, 1BB). max gerl (3-3, 2B) and Noah Emmer (2H, HR, 3RBI) led the way on offense.

Big day for the Seniors on Senior night as Irish take two from Centreville 5-3 and 13-6. Brooks Basler strong in G1 7IP, 4H, 1ER; Preston c 4H, 2B, HR, 3RBI; Noah Emmer 3H, HR, 5RBI; TylerBrand 3H, 3RBI; Higgins 3H; St. Martin return to OF with some great defense.

Higgins lines a single to left to drive in an insurance run late in G2.

Irish split SAC crossover games, losing to Bridgman 11-10 and beating Saugatuck 12-2. Preston c led the way with 5H on the day, followed by max gerl and Higgins with 4H apiece. Brooks Basler 2H and 3 RBI in G2. Defense needs to get it together while bats are heating up.

Irish celebrated two Hackett baseball icons, as 2021 State Champions Brenden Collins and Nick Verduzco saw their numbers hung on the fence following G1. The 3-time All Staters and Hope Baseball teammates led Hackett to combined two Regional Championships and a State title.

Irish split DH vs. Watervliet 13-3 and 1-5. In G1, Brooks Basler had a solid outing (5IP, 4H, 3R, 5K); Offense led by 3 players with 3H each: Noah Emmer, TylerBrand and max gerl. Walbridge strong in relief in G2 (3.2IP, 3H, 0R, 2K).

D4 #5 ranked Irish celebrate annual jersey day on the eve of playoff opener vs. #10 Decatur. District 113 will tipoff at 10 am at Lawrence HS.

Irish bow out of playoffs early 1-0 vs. Decatur. Brooks Basler with a great outing, giving up no ER through 6 innings. Tough finish to a solid season that saw team finish 19-10. Group of six seniors will be missed.
