.Zoopla's new Consumer Insights report is a fascinating read, esp in the context of net zero. With day-to-day living costs continuing to rise, it illustrates the importance of new homes with respect to both the energy & climate crises #deliveringmore bit.ly/3xWxWUn

NPF4 must be clear, deliverable, viable, consistent & ambitious. While it gets some things right, we’ve highlighted the following to Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee: ✅Supports tackling the climate change ✅Supports tackling the nature crisis ❌Does not address the housing crisis.

With a plethora of Christmas adverts currently highlighting a variety of social issues, now, more than ever, we should reflect on the vital role housing plays in our society: bit.ly/3VmL1jn #deliveringmore #homesforscotland

Home builders have a critical role to play in achieving @scotgovfairer's housing objectives. My appointment is welcome recognition of this and I look forward to working collaboratively with my Board colleagues to ensure we are #deliveringmore #homesforscotland

Having a safe & secure home is a fundamental human need, yet it is one that many people in Scotland do not have. There is a critical need for a standalone housing Outcome if progress is to be made in providing enough homes for the people of Scotland.

I am delighted that Homes for Scotland is showcasing some of the great work that is being undertaken across the home building sector by our members during #NetZeroWeek and to restate our commitment to achieve what is practicable at the earliest opportunity. #deliveringmore #homesforscotland

I recently visited a Passivhaus site myself to find out more about this standard. Whilst excellent, it does come with some challenging constraints & scalability remains far off which goes to your point on impeding #s @Willie_Rennie. #deliveringmore #homesforscotland #NetZeroWeek

Scotland simply cannot afford, either socially or economically, to let these trends continue but issues with the new National Planning Framework 4 unfortunately point to such an outcome.

With housing fundamental to the social wellbeing of everyone living in Scotland, from their physical and mental health to education, learning and so much more, I am delighted to be supporting this year’s #ScottishHousingDay which is focusing on careers across the sector.

Key Homes for Scotland training calls include the need to ensure understanding of the Local Development Plan process, the appropriate use of planning conditions, development economics/site viability and the appeals process (including costs for both applicant and local authority).

Scotland’s chronic housing crisis sits at a critical juncture: 3 LAs with declared housing emergencies & a bleak budget for the upcoming year.

Very encouraging to hear the focus on planning & home building while at Scottish Labour's Business Forum today. I look forward to engaging with Anas Sarwar & his team on the detail of their proposals so that Scotland can maximise the social & economic benefits of home building

Delighted to see such strong coverage of our joint call with SFHA, CIH Scotland & Joseph Rowntree Foundation ahead of the Scottish Parliament Budget vote. I hope First Minister will think again about the proposed cuts & that MSPs will carefully consider the housing needs of their constituents as they vote.
