The new AF GL at the #ESCCongress: focus on AF characterization through innovative (albeit not-validated) 4S-AF scheme. The AF risk factors also weigh in for PVI indication now. HAS-BLED is back. I'm afraid AF mngmt is not as simple as CC-ABC... But track PRO and quality of care!

#EHRA_ESC is proud on breakthrough EAST, an AFNET/EHRA trial presented in HotLine at #ESCCongress. Early rhythm control (≤1y after AF diagnosis; drugs or PVI) makes a difference: less CVdeath+stroke+HF hosp+ACS (HR 0.79; p=0.005; 3.9% vs. 5% @5.1y). Consistent in all subgroups!
