This was the last real class/lab for many in 477L and we had a great time measuring heart rate and oxygen consumption of zebrafish embryos/larvae across different temperatures. @LoligoSystems #microresp Also has some good tunes playing from Heather Ikert (Steckley), PhD . Solid data too!!

From seeing if we could measure a single microRNA in a bag of trout water (we figured if you could measure eDNA, then there may be potential...) to seeing this project come together, it's been a long but exciting road and I'm grateful for the lessons learned along the way!

And you can tell how excited I was to have defended by how squinty my eyes are when I smiled 😁😁 I am so sad to be leaving this lab soon but so happy for the wonderful times I had with everyone over the years!

Now that the WATER Facility is up and running, we are in need of an aquatic technician to help run the facility…this is a limited term position (hoping for it to become permanent!). Please retweet! Send this to all your aquatic friends!! careers-uwaterloo.icims.com/jobs/7805/wate…

Super excited to have this out! Great work by Waldir when he was on an exchange to my lab from Brazil (Vera Maria F. Almeida-Val lab) at the start of the pandemic, but he persevered! Sex specific microRNA contributions following hypoxia in zebrafish. Heather Ikert (Steckley), PhD sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
