Meet Sylvia, the grandmother of Katrina Besler, a MD/PhD candidate in Dr. Gordon Francis’ lab, who visited the Bruce McManus Cardiovascular Biobank to view human hearts archived for research purposes.

As a caregiver for a family member with #CAD, she appreciated the impact of disease progression on the patient's quality of life. She has vowed to be a spokesperson for organ donation to save lives and the need for human tissues for cardiovascular research.
