Correcting some misinformation circulating online. A parent or carer is allowed to be with a child if they are admitted for suspected or confirmed COVID-19. This parent or carer will though have to remain in their room for the duration of their admission.

Today is World Polio Day, a great reminder just how effective vaccination is in protecting against serious disease. Australia, as part of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Western Pacific Region, was certified polio-free during the Kyoto meeting in Japan on 29 October 2000.
