This week, The Honorable Adrianne Todman and all of us at HUD are commemorating #WorldAIDSDay. We remember those who have lost their lives to this disease and renew our commitment to addressing the housing needs of those living with HID/AIDS across America.

This funding will support community development, affordable housing, infrastructure, and community facilities for American Indian and Alaskan Native families living on Indian lands in the United States.

When disaster strikes, we know that families and communities need not only resources, but time to recover. By extending our foreclosure moratorium, we continue our efforts to help those affected by the catastrophic Hurricanes Helene and Milton to repair and rebuild.

HUD’s efforts have maintained stable housing for 98% of individuals who received HOPWA tenant-based rental assistance or who were residing in a permanent housing facility last year.

HUD is actively collaborating with federal partners to ensure housing is part of the plan to end the HIV epidemic. This includes working with CDC and HRSA to address HIV outbreaks among people experiencing homelessness and housing instability.

HUD is committed to advancing digital access to the people who need it the most. We are proud to acknowledge the work of our partners who are bridging the gap in affordable broadband internet.

Under the Biden-Harris Administration, HUD has achieved significant milestones in our rental assistance programs, reaffirming our commitment to provide affordable housing for American families.

I joined Center on Budget to discuss the strides HUD has taken to strengthen housing stability nationwide through our rental assistance programs. I am proud that the Biden-Harris Administration fought for and provided additional rental assistance, the most in 20 years.
