We are sad to learn of the death of John Bain, club captain in 1986 and 1987. John, formerly of Carlton CC, a pace bowler with a best return of 8-21 against Dunnikier in 1986, was a true gentleman. RIP.

OTD 1986 - “Lawrie’s Leftovers” take to the field for the first time. Ken Lawrie, now club President, leads the East’s (possibly Scotland’s?) first 4th XI to victory over Mitre 3rds at Sighthill. The Leftovers graced Grades D and E for seven seasons. #HX75
