Been waiting several months to have heat pump installed due to there being very few heating engineers in Argyll. Booked months ago & now CalMac Ferries have cancelled his booking on Monday morning. Literally every part of this house build has been a nightmare because of Calmac.

Ten cars in the “unbooked” queue, except can guarantee they all have bookings for later sailings. An extra kick from CalMac Ferries “lifeline” service to doubley make sure that locals can’t get on the ferry.

Admittedly, this may partly be due to the deficiencies in the census question. But if broadly accurate, highlights 3 things: loss of indigenous population; failure of the education system; & lack of interest/commitment from newcomers.
