Financing incentives to drive sustainable improvements in primary health care (PHC) delivery across Ukraine. Last week, WHO conducted a PHC financing mission in Ukraine, bringing together key national stakeholders to coordinate efforts and plans for PHC system strengthening.

WHO Ukraine held two seminars this week to strengthen regional capacities in developing clinical pathways for patients with arterial hypertension. The event was supported by Switzerland.

In Kharkiv, I saw the incredible dedication of healthcare workers facing tough challenges. We visited primary care facilities and assessed crucial health infrastructure in the clinical hospitals. WHO is committed to supporting both immediate needs and long-term recovery.

I am with our WHO Ukraine team in Zaporizhzhya to check on healthcare needs and have witnessed both destruction and dedication. We looked at medical facilities and met with local health officials. We will continue our support to public health and health care to support people 🇺🇦

During my visit to Dnipro city and Dnipropetrovsk region, I saw how WHO support continues to make a real difference — from trauma and intensive care at Mechnykov Hospital to emergency services in remote communities.

For World No Tobacco Day, WHO Ukraine, Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Міністерство освіти і науки України presented the Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS) data among 🇺🇦children aged 13-15: 🔷Cigarette smoking decreased from 24% (2005) to 9.2% (2017), but rose to 12.3% (2023) 🔷19.6% use e-cigarettes 🔷47% want to quit
