❌️ council design ✅️ alternative, vision zero design! I've led call in (as cllr) of this decision as the design put forward by the council is not vision zero compliant. Widley agreed that Pembury Circus needs improving but the council design is not good enough 1/3

Current pollution levels from our Breathe London Community Programme node at Linden Children Centre: NO2 & PM2.5 are each 4 and 7 times above the WH0 legal limits. Our community is being poisoned by the fumes of the A10. We need trees, not more cars.🌳 #Airpollution Mete Coban MBE Sarah J Young🌿

Hackney claim their design is better for pedestrians. In reality the Council's design removes a pedestrian crossing on Amhurst Rd. The VisionZero design retains it. Removing a crossing on a 3-laned busy road is less safe & lower utility for pedestrians. Keep the pedestrian Xing!

So, what does the #PedestrianPound tell us? For us, three key themes emerge: 1: Pedestrians = pounds 2: In-person connections matter 3: Walkable places save money

Today is the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. Today we remember all those who have lost their lives on our roads. But we should also remember that these are not accidents. These are results. These are the results of the choices we’ve made as a society.

A big week for safer streets and active travel in Tower Hamlets >> "Mr Rahman and the council have ridden roughshod over the plurality of voices who live and work in Tower Hamlets, in particular the majority of households in the borough who don’t own a car."

Terrible and tragic to hear of female pedestrian killed on Mare Street today 3 March by a lorry. All thoughts are with victim's family and friends.

Devastating to hear (TfL Stats 19 data) that the 60 yr old pedestrian hit by car driver on New North Road has died. The second pedestrian death in Hackney this year. uk.news.yahoo.com/pedestrian-60-…. .

This is the THIRD pedestrian death in Hackney in 2025. The second caused by an HGV on a main road. We need to have safer lorries and main roads that allow pedestrians to cross safely. These were not people running carelessly across the road. hackneygazette.co.uk/news/25171095.…
