Curious about multicellular life cycle evolution? Check out the summary of our latest study in cyanobacteria tinyurl.com/37r68faw with Yuriy Pichugin & a yeast study tinyurl.com/5n6c2kf5 by Julien Barrere & Andrew Murray! Big thanks Will Ratcliff & Peter Conlin for the great dispatch!

Auch das Projekt #MicroMeetsEvo, welches ich zusammen mit Katrin Hammerschmidt durchführe und von der @jherzstiftung unterstützt wird stellt sich hier erstmalig vor 👇🏻

The Evolutionary Transitions in Individuality workshop is well underway at @MPI_EvolBio. Today’s speakers include Richard Watson, Jyotsna Kalathera, and @elkobadelko. Looking forward to another day of interesting discussion! workshops.evolbio.mpg.de/event/80/

Peer-reviewed version in Nature Communications of our (Yashraj Chavhan Sutirth Dey) paper on experimental evolution of bacterial multicellularity by genetic assimilation of phenotypically plastic cell clustering nature.com/articles/s4146… Don't miss the new supplementary movies!

Awesome opportunitity to join the fantastic group of Daniel Rozen Universiteit Leiden to experimentally study the evolution of microbial multicellularity. Highly recommended 👇

Incredibly proud of the work done by Dana Lauenroth, bridging fundamental and translational sciences, specifically from theoretical biology to agriculture. Learnt lots from her working on #herbicide resistance evolution in perennial #weeds with an explicit #Johnsongrass lifecycle

An exciting PhD position is available in my group to work on the evolution of multicellularity in bacteria. Tools: microfluidics, transcriptomics, mutational analyses The project is part of the SPP2389 Bacteria! Beyond the single cell! Deadline: 18.08.2023 Please RT More info👇 uni-osnabrueck.de/universitaet/s…

Cuboidal cell packing is a common yet understudied route to multicellularity. In work led by Rozenn Pineau and @ozan_g_b, we explore its origin as a multicellular geometry capable of supporting a transition in individuality using fission yeast. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

It was quite a journey, but a lot of fun. Thanks to PurposeProject for making this interdisciplinary project possible.
