Crews at Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo) have removed nearly 50% of the hazardous materials in parts of the Reduction-Oxidation Plant. The critical risk-reduction activity is preparing the former plutonium-processing facility for eventual demolition.

Hanford contractor Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo) workers successfully tested equipment that is part of a full-scale mock-up of a system that will be used to transfer radioactive capsules from Hanford’s Waste Encapsulation and Storage Facility to safer, dry storage.
