Dear Ploughshares is on Bluesky, I was very excited to have a poem in your most recent issue, until I read the poem “May 5, 2020” by John Okrent. I’m attaching it below not to spread it around, but to give what I’m about to say context. 1/13

i like that part of writing where you edit too much and the poem lays there like a sleeveless trench coat missing all its buttons and you go "what now" and instead of sleeves you add tentacles and instead of buttons you add daises

"The first time I found a frog in my kitchenware, my sister found one in her bed. It was the start of the second plague, depending on who you asked." ""Plague of Frogs:" New poetry from Hannah Nathanson. rejection-letters.com/?p=6186

of my most recently published poems, this piece is important to me because it speaks most to the larger project I am working on at the moment 🫶🫧 frogs & motorcycles really have been riddlin my brain the past year & the art shows it 🖼

This week's Buffalo area poetry and literature calendar requires two screenshots just to capture all the information. You could run yourself ragged just attending literary events over the next four days in Buffalo, or just pick out one or two events and turn out to support them.
