Colleagues joined events at Service Headquarters and fire stations today to observe a national two-minute silence to mark the 80th Anniversary of VE Day.

⚠️ Firefighters from #HIWFRS and Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service are tackling an area of heath and gorse on the border of Hampshire and Dorset in Bransgore. There are a large number of fire engines in attendance so please avoid the area around Burley Road.

This incident was scaled down overnight but a few fire service vehicles remain on the scene this morning with relief crews working to extinguish hotspots.

It's going to be another warm day with a heightened risk of wildfires. Help prevent them: 🔥 Don't light BBQs, bonfires or campfires in the countryside 🚬Dispose of cigarettes and rubbish, including glass bottles, properly 📲If you see a fire call 999 immediately and keep away.

⚠️ #HIWFRS crews are on the scene of a gorse fire on Yateley Common. 🚒 The fire is now surrounded but there is a large number of fire service vehicles in attendance so please avoid the area.

Firefighters are now leaving the scene having extinguished the blaze. One crew will return in the morning to conduct a reinspection of the area and check for any hotspots.
