Our paper on microbial community coalescence is finally out today, from co-1st authors Juan Díaz-Colunga @jdiazc9.bsky.social Alicia SanchezGorostiaga and Nanxi Lu. It grew from a preprint we posted a while back, now with additional experiments and a fair amount of new theory and simulations. pnas.org/content/119/6/…

Join us this Friday, Feb 18th at 1:15pm CST for a seminar by Sophie Darch on aggregate interactions in the CF lung! Let us know if you need a Zoom link!

New paper dropped from Mónica Acosta and me! Always a fun time talking about mechanisms of diversification, and even more fun when a postdoc in your group comes up with an extremely clever way to do the (computational) experiment! Paper here: frontiersin.org/articles/10.33… [🧵 1/]

New preprint from our lab by Andrea Dos Santos, Rita Di Martino and Samuele Testa biorxiv.org/content/10.110… We present guidelines on how to design spent media assays to map out the interactions between bacterial species (1/5)

Ruth G. Shaw of University of Minnesota is being inducted as a member of the National Academy of Sciences for research on wild plant populations, providing key insights into the evolutionary processes affecting fitness. Watch the #NAS159 livestream: ow.ly/R2T550IVYPt

I can’t say enough great things about CABmicrobe! Amazing science and fun people. Super excited to get started on new collaborations. Thank you María Rebolleda, Alejandra Rodriguez, Ana E. Escalante, Eria Rebollar and all the others that made this happen.
