🌾The PM confuses warm words & wellies for support for farming. I worked for years with farmers. They’re a down to earth bunch who work hard & take words and people at face value. The PM’s decisions & then his attempts to justify them shows how little he understands the sector.

A wealth tax may sound a good idea. It’s not. It’s like a sugar hit - a short term lift before a long term crash.

The Budget was awful for Aberdeenshire. ❌NICs hike hitting jobs & business ❌Inheritance Tax changes hitting farmers & family businesses ❌Increased & extended EPL hitting #OilAndGas jobs & investment The SoS cannot allow NE Scotland to carry the cost again in the next budget.

Ed Miliband’s promise to cut bills by £300 was always a fantasy. This is what happens when you set yourself impossible climate targets and ignore the costs. In 2030 you’ll be paying around £100 in your energy bill to pay wind farms literally to switch off when it’s too windy.

Per head, Aberdeenshire is the 4th lowest funded Council by the Scottish Gov. The 3 which get less are much smaller (72 - 262 sq mi). Aberdeenshire is 2,437 sq mi, making services much more ££ to deliver. The result? Cuts, tax rises & lack of investment. thetimes.com/article/33084e…
