Hugh McGinnigle was born OTD in 1906. Hugh was playing for Falkirk and working in a shipyard when invited down for a trial in 1930. He would play 177 times for the Hatters, becoming a favourite at centre-half with his ability to switch from tough tackling to delicate passing.

Remembering Mick Cullen, who was born OTD in 1931. A handful for any defender with a unique shuffle Mick starred for the Town as they won promotion to Division One in 1955. He settled in Luton, working at Vauxhall and the railway station car park, passing away in 2024.

Julius Gregory was born OTD in 1881. A 'bruiser' of a left-back, he joined Town in 1908 but remained for only one season before retiring to join the army. Sadly Julius was killed during the Attacks on High Wood at the Battle of the Somme in July 1916 hattersheritage.co.uk/players/julius…

Bruce Rankin was born OTD in 1879 He joined in 1907 and struck up a good relationship with Bert Moody in the forward line, scoring 7 times in 37 appearances. In all 8 of the Rankin family would represent Everton, with his grandson Andy perhaps the most famous.
