So! The grant! We (with Jason Walsman) will use experimental epidemics, math(s), fieldwork with #guppies and their worms to understand how host #behavior and #parasite #virulence interact through #ecology and #evolution. I am EXCITED! If you are too, and want to join in... 1/2

Just had folks come to my door wanting to evangelize. I politely declined and offered a cold water to take along. We hear a lot about lgbtq ppl trying to indoctrinate everyone else. But I’ve never - not even once - had an lgbtq person come to my door to talk me into being lgbtq.

So proud of Marissa Langager for her persistence in getting this exciting work out- her 1st pub as 1st author! She shows that (given the choice) sick house finches prefer to associate w/ healthy flockmates, which has key consequences for tranmission: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ec…

Project FeederWatch is expanding the kinds of data participants can choose to share, including data on the mammals they see, the health of visiting birds, or how they feel as they observe—investigating how people and wildlife affect each other. Details: hubs.la/Q025tHrQ0

It's Time to Turn #Climate Angst into #ClimateAction! See my new op-ed with Katharine Hayhoe Prof. Katharine Hayhoe Houston Chronicle. As #NCA5 shows, the impacts of climate disruption are everywhere, but so is action. Parents: let's fix this for our kids! Science Moms houstonchronicle.com/opinion/outloo…

A lot of “well intended” people in science serve no more than to be collaborators to the very system they publicly claim to be against and a lot of people don’t want to talk about it.

That was the most incredible Bball game I’ve ever seen - hats off to Virginia Tech Women's Basketball for their persistence in pulling off a win against third ranked NC state! We were not in the lead until the final 7 seconds and then lost it and regained it in the final 2 seconds! 🏀⛹🏻‍♀️⛹🏻‍♀️
