We're saddened to hear of the loss of Ángel and Carlos. Carlos spent 3 weeks with us in October and shared the great work he and Ángel were doing. We will continue their work in their honor. Condolences to family, friends and colleagues. RIP ❤️

Great few days with Tendon Research Group @ UD at ISTS_2023 finally meeting in person several collaborators and many other amazing tendon researchers. Great to present some of our metabolic findings from our Achilles tendinopathy study. Headed home with many great conference takeaways.

Check out our collaboration w/ Mari Lundberg just published in Brazilian Journal of Physical Therapy (BJPT). A 2cm heel-lift resulted in immediate decrease in pain with walking and increased gait speed, and after 2 weeks decreased patient reported symptoms (but small) in patients with insertional Achilles tendinopathy. 1/2 journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/23…

Increased Achilles tendon thickness is associated with increased end range dorsiflexion and pain with walking in individuals with Insertional Achilles tendinopathy. Considering treatment targeted at addressing compression may be beneficial. @UDTendonGroup Hayley P Smitheman

Bone-patellar tendon-bone graft site pain sensitivity & pt reported knee pain were unrelated 1 & 3 months after ACLR. Graft site sensitivity persists after ACLR while pt reported knee pain improves. Tendon Research Group @ UD
