VOLUNTEER PROFILE: Jan has been volunteering with #HealthNowGM since 2021 after wanting to give back whilst sharing his own experience of the difficulties he's faced. His insight has helped shape health services to be more inclusive to those experiencing homelessness Shelter

We offer a full range of support to our Homeless Health Peer Advocates. This includes personalised training and development plans and a funded volunteer bursary to support volunteers to achieve their personal and professional goals. #HealthNowGM

#HealthNowGM follows NICE guidance on the support of peers to deliver services effectively and maintain their own wellbeing and development by providing supervision, training and progression support.

Our Peer-led research takes a look at homeless health inequalities in Greater Manchester. 5 of our Peer Researchers conducted 51 semi-structured interviews with people experiencing homelessness in GM. groundswell.org.uk/wp-content/upl…

I can't speak highly enough of #HealthNow. They provide vital support for people experiencing homelessness to take control of their health journey, offering the peer advocates who deliver the service personalised training and development to achieve their goals.

1/2 Yesterday we held an event to launch the Manchester Maze, highlighting the real life stories of people who have experienced the #HousingCrisis in #GreaterManchester. They spoke about the urgent changes needed to end our national shame - The Housing Emergency.

We are at St. Peters Sq from 10am-2pm today, giving the people of Greater Manchester the opportunity to vote on the future of housing in the UK. The Way Home is a manifesto to rebuild or broken housing system. #buildmore

Our wonderful staff are here to help make the #HousingCrisis the central issue in the next General Election and give a voice to the people of Greater Manchester on what change they want to see to the UK Housing System.
