Happy new year from National Institute for Subatomic Physics Nikhef! Thanks to Marco Kraan you get a nice feel for the new building and the many nationalities in our institute youtube.com/watch?v=mnUqBn…

The Photoconversion Materials section at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (inactief) is growing rapidly! New PhD opening in @SvenAskes's group on plasmonic catalysis 😍 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇

It's out - our review on adaptive optics in "quantum enhanced interferometers" of which our beloved gravitational-wave detectors are a prominent example. Enjoy the read! National Institute for Subatomic Physics Nikhef Physics and Astronomy Amsterdam🔭

The prototype suspension for all the suspensions of all 7 in-vacuum optical tables of Advanced EGO & the Virgo Collaboration, that I worked on for several years, is now being repurposed as a sensor testbed facility at National Institute for Subatomic Physics Nikhef. Look forward to seeing it in action again!

It was fun to write something about the Lunar Gravitational-wave Antenna for LIGO Magazine. Have a look👇🏼 at it and other nice articles about gravitational waves, the detectors and the human aspect of our community. Well done Anna G and Hannah Middleton and the rest of the team!

If you've heard me talk about "secret LIGO work" over the last several months, I'm super excited to finally be able to share the discovery of GW230529: the first observation of a mass-gap object merging with a neutron star! ligo.org/detections/GW2… Image: Shanika Galaudage 1/7

Last night marked the official launch of the Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence for Gravitational Wave Discovery (OzGrav). Learn more about the next phase of OzGrav 👉 swi.nu/2dnb9 Australian Research Council Matthew Bailes Swinburne University of Technology

The Einstein Telescope symposium starts Monday at UniversityMaastricht Einstein Telescope pathfinder. Since a few months, I have a paid subscription on Canva by forgetting to cancel my trial. I thought to go overboard for my poster. So what?

Update: the poster won! One of four winners. Congrats to the others and many thanks to the organisers at UniversityMaastricht.
