The Canberra fires marked a pivotal moment in Australian bushfire science. It showed that even urban communities can be in danger if close enough to the bush, but we're now better placed to respond swiftly to bushfires, writes @andegiss (Macquarie University). bit.ly/3Jdt3O3

Extreme weather events are complex, and working out how much damage climate change caused is tricky. As Andrew King 🌈 + colleagues (University of Melbourne, The University of Waikato 🎓 + CSIRO) write, event attribution is not yet a good way to calculate compensation for climate change. bit.ly/3ongEOO

Dutton and Morrison are more similar than they are different A piece I wrote 👇 #auspol thesaturdaypaper.com.au/opinion/topic/…

✅Please read this piece and share widely. It lays bare the truth of Dutton’s no campaign. It’s all #fearandsmear. The Voice can’t be silenced by Dutton’s Trumpian tone. theage.com.au/politics/feder…

One of the highlights of #WCRPOSC23 was the early career researchers. Climate science leaders of the future, and not afraid to ask the hard questions and challenge the community. Really appreciate the WMO SG Elect, Celeste Saulo, joining us and spending time with the ECRs.
