Something that's not talked about enough is the importance of *grace* in leadership. Without forgiveness, we hold on to labels, judgment, and anger. With forgiveness, we move toward understanding compassion, and connection. Do you need to forgive someone you lead?

Nothing frustrates me more than when younger colleagues are not encouraged to contribute or lead. How do we create environments where everyone has a voice?

‘I work in a trauma centre in Manchester. You might face a mass casualty two or three times a year. In Gaza, you see it every day, with very limited resources.’ Our Faculty Global Lead, Ammar Darwish in The Doctor Magazine.

In my region in the UK I can't think of any trainee (apart from myself and most of the time now I can drop the "just") who would say "just" general... We need a campaign, a big one, to create a feeling of identity and pride in Gen Surg. Especially for us EGS. ASGBI Moynihan Academy

Ammar is such an exceptional yet humble person. His sessions are great. To anyone considering, just book it, you will not be disappointed, hugely inspiring and practically useful

F2 doctors purposely delaying their own progression in order to stay employed as there is no work for them. Similar stories about GP registrars who are going LTFT to delay progression as there are no GP jobs post CCT. Medicine in the UK in 2025. Shambles.

You ask a patient what a UTC is they will tell you it is where you go when you can't get a GP appt.... I.e. they believe it is where they will see a GP.... So what is going to happen? Who are they going to see?

Burnout doesn’t ask for permission—it creeps in quietly, even when you’re doing what you love. Medicine is a calling, but it’s also a marathon. If you’re tired, you’re not weak—you’re human. Rest is not a reward. It’s a requirement. Take care of the healer too. 🧠💛 #Burnout

I strongly believe we need to claim back the word 'resilience'. It's not about being 'tough enough' to cope with the job. Instead it's about building resilient teams, founded on belonging, trust, authenticity & connection. Check this out from Doctors Training & Amie Burbridge

Jess Morgan (@drjessmorgan_) 's Twitter Profile Photo

We all have a role to play in creating supportive workplaces. When we model kindness, empathy & flexibility, we not only help others navigate their challenges, we build stronger, more resilient teams. Let's move away from individual 'toughness' towards compassion & connection
