Here we are in Milton Keynes for a day dedicated to training around supporting adolescents with #selectivemutism #smcen #slpeeps #selectivemutismtraining Anita McKiernan Anna Biavati SLT Libby Hill @angela_m_may Helena Duncalf

Thanks Helena Duncalf for your letter to @rcslt_bulletin clarifying "spikey profile" does not = disorder & not an effective indicator of aetiology or prognosis Love your last sentence re describing strengths and difficulties to meet needs & treat as individual not a label

This Parisian lady who went into lockdown for three months elsewhere, then returned to her city apartment to find potatoes had taken over her kitchen has me concerned for the Trees exhibition at Hayward Gallery & there may now be an uncontrolled forest ripping apart the concrete.

#givingvoice to #SelectiveMutism is vital if we are to end the misunderstandings & myths that can lead to inappropriate interventions and poor outcomes - preventable with good education. Pleased to be doing just that with City Language & Communication Science students this month #slpeeps #slt2b

Great to have met this year's Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust Trainee Leadership Board. It was really encouraging to witness the initial engagement with the challenge theme they'll be working on over the next 4 months. Very promising already 👍 Anam Choudhry Neil Macdonald Daniel Leveson #BHT2021TLB

Following a discussion about the Lidcombe programme, I plan to write a piece about this approach. I'd love to hear from anyone who stammers who had this 'treatment' as a child. Please reply, DM or email [email protected]

Thrilled to hear our SALT student Robyn Foster from Uni of Reading won the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme award for her support in our ‘research in action’ re: language disorder. Proud to enable students to contribute to ‘in the field’ research #AHPsDeliver 🌟

Wonderful to work on this and excited for what it could lead to in adding Qs re "how much therapist time" is needed to dosage research. Well done Robyn Foster

We're kicking off the New Year in style here at the RCSLT with a celebration of student success 🤩 Robyn Foster (MSci SLT Student) has been selected to present a quality improvement project on evidence-based practice at the ‘Posters in Parliament’ event on 28 February 👏 1/6
