I got a seat upgrade for tonight’s opener of the Sunflower Showdown in front of a packed Hoglund Ballpark. The students have their rally towels, Brady Ballinger is back in the lineup, and I’ll have updates on all the action for KUsports.com.

FINAL: Kansas 5, K-State 3 The "never-die Hawks," as Jackson Hauge dubbed them last week, didn't lead until the seventh and didn't get their first hit until the fourth, but pull off a comeback victory in the series opener of the Sunflower Showdown.

Head coach Dan Fitzgerald always says that the most important stat for a starting pitcher is innings pitched. Dom Voegele went 5.2 yesterday, but ate some important innings in the end. Cooper Moore goes eight innings for the second time in three starts to win the series today.
