Flamenco virtuoso Samuel Moore has organised a fundraising concert with jazz legend Jamie Taylor in Sheffield in aid of the Grassroots Jazz campaign, supporting UK jazz venues in these tough times. October 30th. I approve of this behaviour wholeheartedly! Thanks SO much, guys.

I’ve just paid the sixth Grassroots Jazz payment, this time to Scarborough Jazz Club. Bob and the team do a great job of providing top quality jazz and long may it continue. Thanks to all who’ve donated. If you’d like to help too then please do! grassrootsjazz.com

Massive thanks to Chris Gilvear (also on Bluesky) at Jazz Fm for giving a shout out for the Grassroots Jazz fundraising campaign. You can get involved here grassrootsjazz.com with donations, raffles ( the first finishes on Monday) and other news. Jazz needs YOUR help RIGHT NOW.

I sold two vinyl albums and eight cds (bogof) last night. That came to 80 quid which is more than my lifetime earnings on Spotify. Streaming isn’t working for small independent musicians. If you like an artist’s music then please buy it straight from them. Thanks. x

An update on today’s brilliant news from the Arts Council meeting. The short story is that the Grassroots Jazz charity has been granted permission and indeed actually been advised to apply for funding.

This is one of the funniest pieces of live radio you’ll ever hear. And the animation adds an extra layer. #Radio #GerryAnderson

Imagine how most Tory MPs are feeling this morning. Most did not choose their mad leader or her economics, and some must be almost as concerned as I am about the insanity of what she is planning. Will they bring her down? That is the question.

Richard Murphy Ejecting Johnson was easier because he was so obviously corrupt . Truss is actually more malevolent and dangerous . Cold and uncaring .

This is big! Labour members just overwhelmingly backed PR 👏👏 Great news - a real sea change! Yet Keir Starmer has his fingers in his ears. People are crying out for fresh, progressive politics where votes count & voices are heard. And it’s coming, whether leaders agree or not

You don't "get it": You're still scrapping the cap on bankers' bonuses and handing billions of pounds in tax cuts to big businesses. And you're threatening massive cuts to public services and benefits. Listen to everyone saying #EnoughIsEnough and ditch this Tory class war.

24 hours in Brexitland: Former Bank of England MPC member says Brexit "permanently damaged" Britain. London loses position as top European stock market to Paris. Former environment minister admits Australian trade deal "not actually very good".

Ian Dunt Australian's are still celebrating what is one of the most generous trade deals every, for us. British farmers got thrown under the Brexit bus. But because Liz Truss said it was great no one said a thing. Not one world of criticism. Amazing.
