HCSO Investigators have made an arrest on the case, where a postal worker was robbed. Taken into custody was 21-year-old Daniel Alvarado Ramirez a resident from Donna, Texas.  Ramirez was booked into the county jail for Robbery.

HCSO is currently investigating the theft of a silver 2023 Honda Passport Trailsport. HCSO investigators have obtained a photograph of the suspect and are seeking the public's help to identify him. Please call the Sheriff's Office if you have any information at 956-383-8114.

At 3:53am Deputies responded to the 5700 Blk of N Doffing Rd in rural Mission to a call of an adult male victim of a gunshot wound. EMS confirmed the victim deceased. Suspected shooter has been detained. Investigation is underway.

Missing Person HCSO is searching for 24-year-old Paola Guerra, a resident of Weslaco, Texas. Paola suffers from mental health conditions and was last seen in the Weslaco area. If you have any information on Paola Guerra’s whereabouts, call the HCSO at 956-383-8114.

Missing Person update: Ms. Guerra has been located and is back with her family.

Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is experiencing phone communications issues. Inbound and outbound calls are hit and miss. Currently our 911 calls are NOT being affected. If you have a non emergency call you can also text your information to 911 or call 956-289-0457.

At 4:53pm Deputies were dispatched to the 6300 Blk of Lorena St in rural Edinburg for a disturbance. Deputies found two victims of an auto pedestrian collision. A 20 yoa female died and another 27 yoa male was transported to a nearby hospital. Suspect has been taken into custody.

ROAD CLOSURE🚨 Please be advised the area surrounding Roosevelt Road and FM 493 is closed due to a gas leak that resulted from a traffic accident. HCSO Deputies are currently assisting the Donna Fire Department and DPS. Gas services have been contacted for an emergency response

This evening, our dedicated Patrol Deputies took part in the Tip-a-Cop event held at the Topgolf in Pharr, Texas. These type of events provide valuable resources for our community. We would like to thank the Special Olympics of the RGV for inviting us to be a part of this event.

The eastbound lane of Hwy. 281 between Taylor Rd. and Ware Rd. is closed due to a diesel spill. A tank from a semi-tractor trailer ruptured spilling diesel fuel on the road. Emergency crews are working to contain the spill and clear the road. Area Fire departments are on scene.

Around midnight the HCSO OIS team responded to an OIS by a Weslaco PD officer at the 700 Blk of N Pueblo St. WPD officer responded to a shot fired call and located a male suspect. Suspect reached for a shotgun and was shot. Suspect was taken to a hospital and he didn’t survive.

At 8:32 pm Deputies responded to a shots fired call on the 8200 Blk of E Curry Rd in rural Edinburg. A 67-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. We’re investigating, if you have any info, please call 956-383-8114 .

At 1:20 pm HCSO deputies responded south of Mile 2 W. Rd. on Mile 10 N. Rd. in Weslaco, Tx. for a welfare concern. Deputies are at location along with Fire Department reaching for a man who possibly fell into the canal according to witnesses. The man has not been located.

Follow-up Deputies have recovered the body of a male with no signs of foul play. A Justice of the Peace has been contacted, and an autopsy has been requested. The Major Crime Unit will investigate, as is standard for all equivocal deaths.

At about 9:08am Deputy initiated a traffic stop which resulted in a pursuit. Vehicle crashed west of FM88 on Mile 13N. Deputy approached the vehicle and heard what sounded like gunshots. Passenger was advised to show his hands. Deputy discharged his weapon striking him in the leg

Capital Murder Suspect, Jose Manuel Uresti has been taken into custody by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force of the US Marshals Service at the Anzalduas International Bridge. Uresti is responsible for the abuse and death of his 3-year-old daughter.

At 12:29pm, HCSO deputies responded to Mission Hospital. Two brothers, 11 and 5 yoa were brought in by the parents. The children were involved in a ATV crash on private property. The 5-year-old child died as a result of his injuries. Equivocal death investigation is underway.
