That was today!? I was out and about in the vicinity (litter picking) this morning and was just thinking about this episode - Spooky!

Found it! Thomas More Molyneaux thought this op was such a shambles that he wrote a book about how things should be done.

Today is a monentous day. I finished work at one and I won't be going back till Monday. In fact I will most likely never work a Friday again. After thirty years of graft I have taken my first step towards retirement!

In 1794 General Mack planned to encircle a French army at Tourcoing using converging columns. The furthest any of them had to march was 11 miles. They failed. Mack is considered an idiot for even trying. In 1805 Napoleon expected Davout to march 80 miles in two days...

Oh the irony! - the people I am considering making a noise complaint against are singing - 'We'll make heaven a place on earth'.

Well I said I wouldn't engage - it not being my period strictly speaking but I feel a certain level of ignorance must be addressed: The outcome of the battle of Bunker Hill is not 'a matter of opinion' - The British won. Thank you.

I'd like to see a film about university life that isn't set in Oxford. Manchester has quite a lot of students or what about my Alma Mater - Lampeter - now the students have all gone you wouldn't have any trouble filming there... The romance of the rain soaked sheep...

I imagine my posts (if you've seen them) about the 1794 battle of Mont St Jean/Waterloo have caused a bit head scratching. It just goes to show how often these areas were fought over and how you should be wary of archaeological evidence throwing new light on battles.

I'm supposed to be doing archaeology but am putting it off owing to the crappy weather so am editing which I am putting off by doing - well whatever I can think of to be honest - I might as well be at work!
