A budget that abolishes the non dom regime, opens up money for special needs and breakfast clubs in schools, and slaps taxes on private jets. Do I speak to soon or is this FINALLY, the Labour government we voted for?! #Budget2024

Wow. Thrilled at the reforms and investment in schools and hospitals. And yes these are decisions intended to restore “stability” and “rebuild Britain” but can we at least have a teeny tiny mention of culture in helping ensure our survival? #budget2024

I literally just saw a Trump supporter on BBC News try to dismiss his microphone “antics” (ie- him mouthing a sex act) as him trying to fix the thing! Do they simply not see what I can only describe as hatred towards women, or are they covering up for him!? #USElection

Tom Pilla As The Atlantic put it: “If Donald Trump were your father, your husband, your brother, your uncle, or merely your friend, you would insist that he see a doctor, and you would likely shield him from large gatherings where he could become an object of ridicule”

Guardian and Observer journalists are striking tomorrow & Thurs for 1st time in 53 years. I love my work, & feel incredibly sad that it's come to this. But I also feel so proud of my fellow journos who've united to resist the plan to "sell" the Obs to a loss-making startup✊🏽✊✊🏿

TurnerPrize 2024 winner Jasleen Kaur used her acceptance speech to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people, demand an end to institutional complicity in Israels genocide & call for an arms embargo A special mention to the pathetic statement from the presenter at the end

Congratulations Jasleen Kaur on your #TurnerPrize win!! Am so obsessed with this work. It platforms diasporic culture in a gorgeous way and elevates the everyday to the level of worship. I mean, just look at these images…

“Toy firms are still making unicorns for girls and dinosaurs for boys, despite the fact that their history shows there’s little that’s inherently gendered about either of them,” writes Priya Khanchandani. prospectmagazine.co.uk/ideas/68693/un…

Today's welfare announcement contains exactly what I had feared: a huge attack on disabled people. Denying PIP to those who need help to eat, wash or manage toilet needs is simply unacceptable. The Government should target those with extreme wealth not those in need of support.

Around a million people will lose maybe £5,000 a year from these 'reforms'. The gainers will receive a pittance. This was not in Labour's manifesto. It is not the change people voted for. It is immoral.

Breaking my Twitter hiatus to express utter outrage at the idea of slashing support for the disabled. Under the new system, people who cannot cook a simple meal for themselves would not be eligible for support unless they had other needs?! What kind of cruelty is this?

Priya Khanchandani (@hiyapriya) 's Twitter Profile Photo

People who need help to eat, wash or manage their toilet needs would have their support slashed under the new proposals. It’s utterly wrong and we need to all speak up before it’s too late and becomes enshrined in law
