If you’re in media, this is worth a watch. Cloudflare handles ≈20% of global traffic, so when CEO Matthew Prince warns at Cannes that AI bots are reshaping the web, publishers need to adapt or risk being left behind.

Matthew Prince shared these stats: 📊 10 years ago: Google crawled 2 pages per visitor 📊 6 months ago: Google 6:1, OpenAI 250:1, Anthropic 6,000:1 📊 Now: Google 18:1, OpenAI 1,500:1, Anthropic 60,000:1

AI SEO is just good old-school SEO. There is very, very little difference. If you’re being told otherwise, prepare for a course or some fairytale and whisper of a dream.

Cloudflare is rolling out Pay Per Crawl, a new feature that allows websites to charge for crawlers like search engines and AIs to index their content. At first glance, it sounds like a win for publishers—but for the overwhelming majority of websites, it’s a traffic trap disguised

Pray and hope your competitors block AI crawlers. In fact, if I were feeling cheeky (which I am over these days), and was in the habit of cold emailing folk (which I don't do), I'd be sending legitimate pr to competitors (anonymously, of course), encouraging them to do it.

👀I'm fairly sure by the end of this thread (however long it takes to lay out) it will be demonstrable that most AI discoverability tactics geneses can be traced back to simple SEO strategies of yesteryear. We will see. Feel free to add any to the conversation.
