What a neat experience today riding behind the iconic 611 locomotive on an excursion to Staunton. The Queen of Steam was built in Roanoke in 1950 and is the only surviving Class J locomotive. She was the inspiration for the Rail Yard Dawgs nickname and a great symbol of Roanoke.
