“It’s one of the best days of my life; they deserve it. I said, for them this is like the World Cup. People who’ve died, people who’ve grown up and they’ve not seen Newcastle as Champions and now they’ve seen it.” Some quote, that.

Thirteen Months of Sunrise was one of the first books I picked up when I started managing the Women in Translation Prize in 2020 and it’s still one of my highlights. It’s a powerful collection of short stories and artfully translated. The fly on the bus - i think about it a lot!
