The Minister of MoCI, Hon. Jibril Abdirashid Haji received representatives from the local business communities of the Banadir Region in his office today. The discussions primarily revolved around the government's tax, resolving disputes among businesspeople, & addressing their concerns.

Today, Mohamed Saney Dalmar, the DG of MoCI, inaugurated a 3-day stakeholder consultation meeting to develop Somalia’s Rules of Origin Law. This law determines whether products qualify for preferential trade treatment & whether they can be labeled "Made in Somalia" for trade benefits.

Thrilled to have participated in the 9th Ministerial Conference of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa. Somalia is strengthening its economic ties with China, paving the way for expanded trade opportunities that will drive Somalia’s growth and development.

Excited to share that the Ministry of Commerce & Industry just launched an affordable $100 business license certificate for small businesses! This is a game-changer, making it easier to register, get financing, and tap in to global opportunities. A huge step forward.

I am pleased to conclude the 2nd Women in Private Sector Workshop in Mogadishu today. Over the last two days, we had productive discussions centered on educating participants about Somalia’s Business Registration System, formalizing small businesses, & addressing the challenges.

I received Amb. Alper Aktaş of Türkiye in Somalia at MoD HQ. we discussed strengthening ties & advancing defence cooperation. Amb. Aktaş reaffirmed Türkiye’s support for rebuilding the SNA & combating the Khawarij threat. Thanks, Türkiye for strategic & capacity-building efforts.

Had a productive introductory meeting with SRSG James Swan. We discussed strengthening our cooperation with United NationsTMIS and streamlining coordination with @UN & international partners in enhancing support for MoD Somalia 🇸🇴 & SNAF in the operations against the Khawaarij.

Led the #FGS delegation in fruitful bilateral discussions with #FDRE's Minister of Defence H.E @Aishamo_Mussa on sidelines of #AUSSOM #TCC Extra-Ordinary Meeting in #Kampala. Our talks focused on collaborative solutions to the security threats posed by Al-Shabaab in the region.
