Marwan al-Sultan, a senior doctor in Gaza, has become the 70th healthcare worker to be killed by Israeli attacks in the past 50 days. A number of family members were murdered alongside him. Marwan’s murder is part of a systematic and sickening targeting of healthcare workers.

Remember this data when we are told that the UK state/economy cannot afford the welfare state. The real problem is gross inequality of wealth & income. This is what a genuinely reforming government would prioritise. And it would be electorally popular to boot!

UPDATE: 75+ MPs have signed my motion calling on Keir Starmer to fulfil his promise to introduce the Hillsborough Law "in full and without delay". It would be a grave mistake for him to return to Liverpool for Labour conference in September without first fulfilling this pledge.
