Earlier this week I visited the team Hornby Fire Station - a beautiful rural village in our amazing county. They do a fantastic job keeping their appliance available, all doing so many hours of on-call cover, keeping people safe. Heroes, every one of them 👏👏

🔥 Incident 06/03/24 - 19:35pm 🔥 Hornby were called to a vehicle which had left the roadway and landed on its roof in Burrow 🚒 NWAS were on scene and confirmed that the driver had self extricated and had no major injuries The incident was left with police for recovery 🚙

Tonight we welcomed our newest addition to the crew - FF Staveley! 👨‍🚒 Will has just completed his 2 week basic recruits course at training centre! He thoroughly enjoyed his 2 weeks, focusing on hose, pumping water & ladders! 🪜 We look forward to working with you Will! 💪

🔥 Incident 14/03/24 - 19:07pm 🔥 The crew were called out to assist NWAS with moving a casualty in Hornby 🚑 We were in attendance for approximately 45 minutes and were then made available for other calls 🚒 #NotJustFires

🔥 INCIDENT 28/03/24 - 23:15PM 🔥 Hornby were called to a barn fire in Roeburndale alongside collegues from Lancaster, Carnforth & Bentham 🚒 BA and multiple tanks of water were used to extinguish the fire🔥 Livestock were moved from the barn to a safe location 🐑

Today FF Bleasdale & FF Bamforth have taken the first step on their journey to become BA wearers 🔥 They are attending training centre this weekend for their BA pre-learning, prepping them for their 2 week BA initial course starting on 29th April! Good luck both of you 👨‍🚒

🔥 INCIDENT 26/04/24 🔥 Hornby were called to 2 AFA’s in Newton today at 10:18am & 12:24pm Both were false alarms and the crew were made available shortly after arriving 🚒 Remember to test your smoke alarms regularly to ensure they are working in the event you need them! ✅

The crew made the most of the recent good weather and were off site for drill last night ☀️ The appliance and the LPP were used, pumping from open water to supply a jet off the bridge 💦 As the crew were going home they were required to go to Lancaster on standby duties 🚒

🔥INCIDENT 19/05/24 - 16:55PM🔥 Hornby were called to an RTC on Clapham Moor, alongside a crew from Hawes Fire Station - North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service 🚒 On arrival the vehicle was made safe and the driver was checked over by North Yorkshire Ambulance 🚑
