Attended Joan Bakewell's launch of her book 'Stop the Clocks' which she wrote in our Cottage, lovely occasion and she writes so well.

Installed sixty-fifth writer in Church Cottage for five week residency; privacy and peace plus clean bed, logs for fire and a cheque.

HHT is allocated £50,000 by Foyle Foundation, £10,000 for five years, called the Skoyles Bursaries Fund to be spend on writers' bursaries.

International women's day, HURRAH. HHT has been fighting the corner for clever women who need a bolt-holeand support for twenty years.

Our writers' retreat is above the river flood line as the River Stour flooded last week. Dated 1760, it sits above any recorded flood line.
