Birch class did some code-breaking at Forest School, having learnt about the Enigma code and the mistake which the Axis made during WW2. Polish and French spies/personnel helped Alan Turing, a British mathematician, to crack the code, and so save millions of further deaths.

Sycamore class were at Forest School this afternoon learning about worms. They have 5 hearts and there are no male or female worms, so all worms lay eggs. Charles Darwin said that worms are the most important creatures on earth. Giant Gippsland worms can grow over 3 metres long!

Miss White’s class were doing a bit of Hapa Zome at Forest School this afternoon. This activity allows children to share ideas and inspiration, as well as being a great way to express their own ideas to create art, using natural resources. The results were beautiful! Well done!

Mr Coulson’s and Mr Greatham’s classes were out at Forest School this afternoon, learning some facts about bones in the human skeleton. They then produced their own skeletons in teams, using sticks they gathered in the woods.

Seedlings class were out at Forest School (or should I say Hoyle Court Primary Mission Control 🚀) this morning to witness the launch of our latest space rocket. Once the rocket fuel tanks were connected to the main body, there was no stopping it! We had a blast!

Miss Lockwood’s class were using sticks to make models of the human skeleton at Forest School this afternoon. Did you know that we have 27 bones in each hand?

There was some serious den building going on at Forest School this afternoon. Two rival groups trying to outdo the other. One even had sentries on duty! Great teamwork and imagination!

Many thanks to the parents who have recently bought books from our wish list. They are arriving in school and the children are excited. A year 6 boy hadn't read one book from his series and it arrived from the wish list! He was full of thanks. He can now complete the series.👌📚
