Lovely data from Pfizer Inc.. GDF15 appears to contribute to cachexia mainly through its effects to reduce food intake but there are additional food intake-independent changes in skeletal muscle. Looks like glucocortoicoids might be involved, as we predicted in 2021 PMID: 34187898
